Post Smorgasbord

It's been busy around here. This post should really have been several separate posts but it's coming at you all in one. We picked up Halmoni and Halmoni no. 2 in Vancouver last week and it's been a whirl wind visit since. We took the big red tour bus around the city for the first time ever. Went to the aquarium, Stanley Park and the Olympic flame. Then went on the Skytrain and visited Science World. Go go go...was basically the plan of action. With quiet down time at the pool and hot tub.

Then we stopped by Harrison Hot Springs for one night. The kids LOVED it.

Then back at home, the Halmonis tasted wine and hit some balls at the driving range. Throw in some ballet rehearsals and soccer practices, not to mention piano classes, and you get the picture. It's busy around here. But the good news is that the Halmonis are keeping us so well fed!

The sad part is that my dad would have loved all these things. The hot tub, the hot springs, Vancouver, watching the grandkids, golf, wine tasting, etc.... I feel like he would be happy that we were enjoying these things while thinking of him.

Sisters

They are all so close and love each other that it warms my heart a million times over. They fight, they play, they fight then they play some more. :)

Havarti Cheese

My dad used to love having cheese with red wine. When he was here last December we went grocery shopping together and we picked out this havarti cheese together. Then we brought it up to the ski condo the last time he was here. For some reason we never opened up the cheese. I don't want to open up this cheese now. It is now past the expiry date but I don't want to throw it away. It is a tangible reminder to me that my dad was here with me. We are at the condo this weekend and when I opened the fridge and saw the cheese, I went through so many different emotions. It brought me happiness because it reminded me of my dad, but it also caused a big lump in my throat. I miss him on this special weekend.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Every Good Friday we go to this outdoor Easter egg hunt. This will be the 4th time in 5 years that we went. Today was freezing COLD! It snowed a little, it rained a little and it was windy and cold the entire time. Alex and Rachel have been looking forward to it for a long time so there was no way that we couldn't go because of the weather. So we endured the coldness so that the kids could have fun.

Sophia is passed out right now from all the excitement and the girls are watching a movie under a thick warm blanket. I'm having a cup of tea and James is relaxing. A good start to this Easter long weekend.
Thanks Halmoni for the Easter presents. Alex and Rachel love their stylish skinny jeans! They fit perfectly. And Sophia loves the beautiful spring stockings. And all 3 girls are fighting over the beautiful hat.
Happy Easter Everyone!
