Don't you love how every mom thinks that their kid is a genius? I know this is true because I thought that of my twins when they were small. haha. And now with Sophia. She's a master artist I tell ya. That drawing is of Elmo with legs. (not that it needs any explanation, it's so clear that it is Elmo! Right?!) haha. And she added a To: Mama Love: Sophia. That is what all that writing means.
Facebook is funny. In the sense that a little kid can post something on their status and it actually impacted my life. I think this girl is like 15 years old and she had posted:
If you always do, what you have always done, you will always get, what you have always got. Are you satisfied?
And it got me thinking. And in the next moment I found myself calling up a local fitness studio and signing up for a bootcamp. 13 sessions to jump start my new fit self!!! Started this morning at 6am!!! I feel SO SORE all over. It was pretty tough. I felt pretty out of shape but when I felt like I couldn't go on, I envisioned my awesome new summer dress that I want to wear WITHOUT a muffin top. Bonus of signing up for this class...forced Papa to make the girls' lunch and pack it into their backpacks this morning. First time EVER I think. Maybe he has made their lunch once before. But I don't remember when that would have been.
I'm trying to figure out what activities to put the girls into for next Sept. I don't want to be as busy as I was this year. We had something four nights of the week. Plus ski lessons on the weekend. CRAZY! But what to cut out? Is it better to double up on one evening so that other evenings we will be free? Also to add in the amount of time every night for homework, baths/showers. It fills up quickly. I want to cut back. It's all too much. Take for instance, I cut out soccer this spring. I feel really guilty whenever soccer comes up in conversation with any other moms in front of the girls. Because this is the first year I told them we were NOT going to do it because we are running around too much. It seems like everyone and their dog is doing soccer and the girls really miss it. Especially because they can't do it. Jeesh. Where to draw the line?
On another exciting front...we have a garden!!!! For the first time ever!!!! In this small 4 by 4 plot we are going to plant the following: cucumbers, green onions, tomatoes, sweet peppers, hot peppers, basil, chives, parsley, carrots, radishes and strawberries. I might have even forgotten some veggies. Really. Isn't that amazing?!!! High yielding garden. I will post a picture after we plant the seeds this weekend. The box is all ready and waiting. The girls and I have wanted a garden forever. But we don't have much space and I am scared to death of worms. So it never happened. Anyhow long story short, this guy creates garden boxes as a business, he came over, built our tiny garden, we surprised Papa and everyone is happy now.
